At PMI Smoky Mountains, our family, business and employees aren’t perfect. We guarantee that we will make mistakes. We can also guarantee that when we make a mistake, we will own up to it and do what we can to make it right. We don't stop there - we will determine the root cause and improve our processes and procedures to try and keep from making the same mistake twice.

The owners of PMI Smoky Mountains
Terri Peplow and her son, Jake Bowers, managed their own vacation properties in Texas, Wisconsin and Tennessee and honed their skills before branching out and managing other owners vacation properties. They are originally from Illinois where they have owned several successful businesses and recently moved to the Gatlinburg area to focus their energy on managing properties in the Smoky Mountains. Along with their knowledge and experience, Terri and Jake bring their witty banter and comedic personalities.

Terri has a varied background in family and forensic counseling as a licensed counselor, and in information technology as a Project Manager. She is a military veteran and spent 9 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
She obtained her Bachelors in Communications from ISU in 1990 and Masters in Human Development Counseling from Bradley University in 2010. Prior to counseling, she managed large process improvement projects for companies like Caterpillar, State Farm, and the federal government. She is a certified 6 Sigma Black Belt and a certified Life Coach. Along with her husband, Jamie, and oldest son, Jake, Terri has owned a successful commercial cleaning company in Illinois since 2019. In 2021, they purchased their first vacation rental property in Texas, then proceeded to purchase additional properties in Wisconsin and Tennessee. Since that time, they dove in to learning alll aspects of vacation rental management and have grown their property management business to the success it is today.
Terri is passionate about providing excellent customer service and open and transparent communications to both guests and property owners. She has a keen eye for designing and staging vacation rentals to maximize aesthetics, comfort and durability.
Terri and her husband have 4 pretty cool children ranging in age from 20-31 and two dogs, Blue and Big Mama.
Jake, Terri and Jamie's oldest son, has a decade of professional experience with a diverse background in operations, business development, and brand development. With experience as the Chief Operating Officer at the family’s commercial cleaning company and overseeing his family’s short-term rental business operations, Jake brings knowledge in optimizing business processes and driving growth.
While at Maui Jim Sunglasses, Jake excelled in brand development and training, implementing effective new hire and corporate training programs for key accounts. Known for his ability to build strong, positive relationships, Jake is a true go-getter and a fast learner, making him a valuable asset to the family businesses.
